What is TASTE Takeover?
TASTE Takeover is the only veteran-led, Latina, queer nonprofit in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area, as well as the tri-state region, dedicated to our mission. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are committed to serving the public by creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ Latinx community in the DC Capital Region.
Through charitable and community-focused initiatives, TASTE Takeover strives to promote equality, increase access to essential resources, and foster a strong sense of belonging. By curating culturally rich experiences, advocacy efforts, and support programs, we work to uplift, empower, and amplify the voices of this underserved community, ensuring they have the tools, opportunities, and support needed to thrive both socially and economically.

December 6: Noche de Velitas with Cali Flow Latino ✨
We are thrilled to announce that Cali Flow Latino is joining us on December 6 as we celebrate Noche de Velitas, one of Colombia’s most cherished traditions. Although we had to reschedule, we cannot wait to bring the fire, rhythm, and alegría of Cali straight to our community here in DC.
This special night is dedicated to our Colombian familia and to everyone who wants to experience the magic of Latin culture. Together we will light up the night with music, candles, and connection — honoring a tradition that symbolizes unity, hope, and joy.

MAMACITA Festival 2025
A Historic Celebration
What a year! The 2025 MAMACITA Festival was nothing short of a bold, first-of-its-kind success, uniting queer Latinas and our allies in the Washington, DC region for a full day and night of music, culture, and community. Together, we created an unforgettable experience that celebrated pride, rhythm, and unity, while spotlighting powerful Latinx artists and voices from across the country
From concerts that had the crowd dancing all night, to cultural moments that reminded us of our shared roots, MAMACITA 2025 proved that nuestra comunidad shines brightest when we come together unapologetically and on our own terms.
But MAMACITA is more than a festival, t’s a movement, a vibe, and a reclamation. In a world that too often narrows “mamacita” into something superficial, we flipped the script. To us, a mamacita is anyone who embodies strength, pride, joy, and power, queer, trans, femme, masc, nonbinary, or beyond the binary. When you show up as your full, radiant self, you are MAMACITA.
We’re still buzzing from the love, the energy, and the community that made 2025 unforgettable. And this is just the beginning.
