What is TASTE Takeover?
TASTE Takeover is the only veteran-led, Latina, queer nonprofit in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area, as well as the tri-state region, dedicated to our mission. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are committed to serving the public by creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive spaces for the LGBTQ+ Latinx community in the DC Capital Region.
Through charitable and community-focused initiatives, TASTE Takeover strives to promote equality, increase access to essential resources, and foster a strong sense of belonging. By curating culturally rich experiences, advocacy efforts, and support programs, we work to uplift, empower, and amplify the voices of this underserved community, ensuring they have the tools, opportunities, and support needed to thrive both socially and economically.

MAMACITA is more than a word—it's a vibe, a celebration, a reclamation. In Latin culture, “mamacita” has often been used to define beauty in narrow, superficial terms. At our festival, we’re flipping the script. To us, a MAMACITA is anyone who embodies strength, pride, joy, and power—regardless of how they look, where they’re from, or how they
identify. Queer, trans, femme, masc, nonbinary, or anything beyond the binary —we are all mamacitas when we show up as our full, radiant selves.
MAMACITA is a love letter to our community. It’s loud, unapologetic,
and rooted in cultura.
